Poem 5

The Pool

I glide through the water
like a dolphin or a whale
Quick like a rabbit
not slow like a snail

In between strokes
I take in a breath
Faster and faster
not sure of my depth

Pushing harder and harder
to beat my best time
Wanting it so badly
my moment to shine

It is almost over
this race really flew
Looking up from the water
Coach "How did I do?"
